We had bad weather and the captain canceled our trip the day before. Luckily he gave us an option to do a trip that afternoon. He was very forward that the seas were rough. We decided to do a 4 hr afternoon trip. The boat was big and cut through the waves seamlessly. The captain did everything he could to put us on fish. The first 45 minutes the 1st mate kept us entertained with music and historical facts about the country. All the sudden the captain spotted a group of Mahi and it was game on. In total we caught 2 Mahi, 2 barracuda and 2 Wahoo. It was a great day on the open sea.

Calvin and Alfred were amazing! We went out for the 6 hour trip for my husband’s birthday. We came back with 12 Mahi mahi and 2 barracudas. What a wonderful day!

We had a great time! Our 1st mate Alex was awesome!! He made sure we were happy, entertained, and comfortable. He made sure our baits were fresh checking them regularly. We ended up catching 4 barracudas, 2 mahi mahi’s, and a rainbow runner. We also lost 2 other mahi’s and saw a marlin surface by our close baits but no hit. I would definitely do it again!! Boat was clean and well kept. Captain did a great job working hard to find fish.

Amazing trip out to go deep sea fishing on the Sherlock II. Captain was great and kept an eye out constantly. First mate (Andrei) made sure we always had everything we needed and helped when we needed to reel in our catch. Highly recommend this company.

Amazing experience with Calvin and Alfred. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a fishing trip. My husband went out with them 3 times and I joined him twice. Caught lots of Mahi Mahi and Barracuda. My husband hooked a White Marlin but he got off. Will definitely be booking with them on our return trip. From booking, transportation to and from the resort and fishing was a 5 star experience.

We had an amazing day with Big Marlin Charters in Punta Cana! We did the 6-hour deep sea fishing tour, and honestly, we could have stayed out even longer. The crew was super friendly and professional, and they made sure we were comfortable the entire time. The highlight of the trip was reeling in several mahi mahi and a couple of barracuda – such an adrenaline rush! The boat was clean and well-maintained, and the views out on the water were incredible. If you're looking for a great fishing experience in Punta Cana, I highly recommend Big Marlin Charters. We’re already talking about booking another trip next time!

I searched and searched for what I thought would be the right charter for my wife and I visiting the DR. Of course, you never know what you will get until you get it. From an avid fisherman, I was highly pleased with this trip. Hopefully, this review can debunk some of the negative reviews I read about this outfit.1. The crew was awesome. Eddie was super high energy and was constantly changing to fresh baits and adjusting the trolling lengths in order to find what was working that day.2. Food and drinks were provided. Beer, Water, Rum, Coke, and plenty of ice. Was it a gourmet lunch? No. But guess what, you are fishing. A sandwich is more than adequate.3. We did not have to wade out to the dingy to take us to the big boat. I think I might have gotten my ankles wet, no complaints.4. We were picked up promptly on time from our resort and taken directly to the boat via the main highway. Max, the driver was great.Overall, this was a wonderful trip that I would take again. On top of that, my wife became sick and we had to return 3 hours early from our 8 hour trip and we were refunded part of the money for fuel we didn't use.Who even does that?

Captain Willy and Eddie were AWESOME! They kept the energy up and maintained a positive vibe, helping us catch a big mahi. They also assisted us in reeling in two barracuda and a small tuna. It was a great trip with great catches and an excellent captain. Thanks to the Gone Dog boat and crew, Willy and Eddie. Top-notch guys!Thank you once again🐟

Memorable experience. Best half day charter in Punta Cana! Nice clean boat. Captain Coco was awesome and put us right on the good spot to have a successful trip. Highly recommend captain Coco and Rozario. Sure definitely will be back soon.

What a great fishing trip! First barracuda and a few good size mahi mahi! Absolutely amazing family experience . Awesome day on the water with Big Marlin Charters. No marlin but we had a great experience and definitely recommend mate Rosario and Captain Cocota!

My wife and I had an awesome half day fishing charter with captain Miguel. We were on our last day of vacation and booked a fishing very spontaneously. The boat Sherlock was beautiful, gear was very nice and fishing was a blast. Miguel was awesome too. He was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. If we're ever in the Dominican republic again we'll definitely plan another fishing with him. Definitely recommend capt Miguel and boat Sherlock.

Manuel was great! He was very informative explaining everything that was going on along the way, he had a great personality and was cheering us on while we were catching. Turned a "fishing charter" into a friend bringing you fishing. A+! We were on the blue sky and it was perfect. Wish I had more time to drink the bottle of rum between all the fish we caught!

					  Our fantastic sea fishing!  - My son and I we did the four hour trip and it was a lot of fun this afternoon on the Sherlock boat. Captain Richard took us to some great spots ahead of the Punta Cana marina. We enjoyed his hospitality, the boat, the Dominican bochata and the weather in the Dominican Republic. Capt. Richard even suggested a good place to eat and then we went fishing and successfully caught a couple mahi-mahi and three barracuda. We hope to return for another trip when the water is a little warmer - this trip was in early March. If you are looking for a fun, courteous and knowledgeable captain, Richard and his assistant Andy are your guys!

					  Gone fishing  - A great day fishing, we did a six hour trip and it was fantastic,Andy the first mate was brilliant, we managed to catch 6 fish which was a good result. Highly recommend

					  Great time catching - Miguel and Alfred were great!  We were able to get for Mahi on the boat.  Then hand caught a bunch of bait amberjacks. We had a great time!  Will definitely come back

					  Excelente! - Absolutely excellent full day fishing charter! Boat Cana well equipped and well maintained. There was 3 of us and we caught 7 mahi and two small cuda. Captain Miguel gave our family a fantastic fishing trip experience. He is one of the best local fishermen and captain. Will definitely be back the next time we're in the Dominican Republic. Thank you Big marlin!

					  Private charter  - We went our on a 6 hours private fishing tour. Booking was easy. Captain Richard and First Mate Andy were absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be booking with them in the future when we return.

					  Excellent!  - Excellent 6hrs!!!!! I have done a lot of big game fishing by myself, but wanted my friends and family to experience it.  Expected to catch a few barracuda and maybe a Mahi Mahi, but we were stunned to catch a Blue Marlin (and even rose another 10mins later), we also got a barracuda.  This gave us the best experience.  Having been lucky enough to catch a few myself already, to give my son this experience was a great day - one he won’t forget!!!

We booked through their website and paid a deposit, we were picked up on time direct from the hotel and taken to the beach. Staff on board were excellent and very welcoming, the equipment is a bit dated, but good enough for the fishing.  There is not a jetty to access the boat, you have to get into a small boat and get taken to the main boat (not a problem for us, but others may find this difficult).  Would recommend.
